Cablevision Power to Learn Read to Achieve event at North Brooklyn YMCA
Yesterday, Cablevision Power to Learn held a Read to Achieve summer reading event presented by Kia Motors with New York State Assemblyman Darryl C. Towns and retired New York Knicks player John Starks at North Brooklyn YMCA. Assemblyman Towns, John Starks and the kids read Cam Jansen and the Basketball Mystery, were quizzed on details of the book and won raffle prizes including books, gift bags, New York Liberty and New York Knicks tickets. Cablevision Power to Learn partners with schools throughout the tri-state area to encourage the use of new technologies in addition to good old fashioned books to get kids excited about learning.
