The Garden of Dreams Foundation

March 12, 2010

What is the Garden of Dreams Foundation? In 2006, the Garden of Dreams was created to help bring joy to children facing devastating problems – whether they relate to illness, homelessness, poverty, foster care issues or tragedy. The charity partners with hospitals, community centers, foster organizations, homeless shelters and “wish” organizations to create memorable experiences at Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall, the MSG Training Center, Fuse, the Beacon Theatre, and other locations throughout the New York City metro area. Since its inception, over 99,000 tickets have been donated to organizations served by Garden of Dreams and more than 950 special events have been designed for over 18,000 children and families. Visit the Garden of Dreams website to learn more about the charity and what you can do to help.

One day last week, the Garden of Dreams Foundation invited players and alumni from Madison Square Garden’s three teams (the Rangers, Knicks, and Liberty) to take part in a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a newly refurbished playroom at a community center in Harlem in the morning and a “Show Kids NY” Build-A-Bear Workshop in midtown Manhattan in the afternoon (photos by Avi Gerver, ©Madison Square Garden, Inc.):
