Garden of Dreams Foundation celebrates NBA Green Week

March 30, 2010

Last week marked the second annual NBA Green Week, during which the entire NBA family teamed up to generate awareness and funding to protect the environment through special oncourt apparel, auctions to support environmental preservation organizations, and hands-on community service projects. Last Friday, the Garden of Dreams Foundation, retired New York Knicks player Anthony Bonner, two Knicks City Dancers, and actor Matthew Modine (currently starring in a Broadway production of The Miracle Worker) visited WHEDCo’s Intervale Green to participate in “reduce, reuse, recycle” activities with children. Intervale Green, located in the Bronx, is the nation’s largest Energy Star affordable housing development. Photos by Avi Gerver, ©Madison Square Garden, Inc:
