Bright and sun-shiny day in the Garden
The New York Knicks and New York Rangers usually play once or twice a year on the same day at Madison Square Garden, but not since 2005 have they both won their games, and this past Sunday they did it in style. First up were the Knicks, who extended their winning streak to 8 by defeating Carmelo Anthony and the Denver Nuggets, 129-125. The Knicks’ Amar’e Stoudemire set a franchise record with his 8th consecutive 30-point performance. The Rangers followed that up by shutting down Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals in a 7-0 rout. Those in attendance were lucky enough to see a rare Ovechkin fight, only the second of his career. The Rangers improved to an impressive 8-0-0 record in the second of back to back games this season.
