Marian Gaborik scores 4 as New York Rangers overpower Toronto Maple Leafs, 7-0
New York Rangers star Marian Gaborik scored four goals and goalie Henrik Lundqvist earned his 7th shutout of the season as the Rangers defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs, 7-0 at Madison Square Garden. Gaborik’s outburst was the first four-goal game by a Ranger in nearly 10 years. It wasn’t all good news though, as the team learned that Brandon Dubinsky, its leading scorer, will be out 3-4 weeks with a leg injury, and that Ruslan Fedotenko has injured his shoulder. Those two losses bring the injured list total to seven, as Chad Koralik and Brodie Dupont will be called up from the Rangers’ AHL affiliate in Connecticut to join the roster of unfamiliar faces. The team flew to North Carolina last night, where they will face the Hurricanes tonight. Photos by Avi Gerver, ©Madison Square Garden, L.P.
