New York Rangers kick off season in Sweden today
October 7, 2011
The New York Rangers hockey team will open its 2011-2012 season with a game against the Los Angeles Kings today and the Anaheim Ducks tomorrow in Stockholm, Sweden before heading back to the U.S.. They start the season with seven games on the road due to renovations at Madison Square Garden, where they’ll return for their home opener on October 27th.
Dave Maloney, who played for the Rangers from 1974-1985 and serves as a radio and TV analyst for the team, was asked to give his thoughts about the upcoming season in an interview for New York Magazine online. The portrait of Maloney used in the article was one I took in MSG’s Hockey Night Live TV studio. ©Madison Square Garden, L.P.
