New York Rangers Viewing Party

October 8, 2011

New York City's Madison Square Garden

The New York Rangers held a viewing party yesterday afternoon in a garden (the Beer Garden at Local West) across from The Garden in midtown Manhattan. The space was dotted with huge televisions broadcasting the Rangers’ 2011-2012 season opening game against the Los Angeles Kings in Stockholm, Sweden. The team raffled off player-autographed pucks and sticks, and retired Rangers Pete Stemkowski (1970-1977) and Nick Fotiu (1976-1985) chatted with fans. The Rangers lost the game, 3-2 in overtime, but hope to turn things around when they play the Anaheim Ducks today at the same venue before returning to the U.S.. For more photos from the viewing party, check out the full gallery on the Rangers’ official fan site, BlueshirtsUnited.com. ©Madison Square Garden, L.P.
