2012 NHL Winter Classic

Nearly 47,000 fans packed Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia on Monday to witness North America’s annual New Year’s weekend outdoor hockey game, the NHL Winter Classic. The result: a 3-2 New York Rangers win over the Philadelphia Flyers, giving the team the NHL’s best record at 24-9-4. While technically a home game for the Flyers, Rangers fans were out in full force to cheer on their team. My assignment was to capture their experience of the event.
