Van Halen at Madison Square Garden
February 25, 2012
Van Halen, the legendary 40-year old American rock band, returns to Madison Square Garden next week for the first time since May 2008. The band debuted its newest album, “A Different Kind of Truth,” on February 7. It was Van Halen’s first album of completely new material since 1998 and its first to feature David Lee Roth on lead vocals since 1984. Here are some photos I took at the May 2008 show, and there are more on MSGSoundCheck.com. Photos by Avi Gerver, ©Madison Square Garden, L.P.

Great pics!
Nice Shots
Avi, first of all, nice looking images. I’ve been a Van Halen fan since I have memory, it is very nice to see Diamond Dave as a lead man again and making the 1/4 of the band(since the other 3 form the other genuine 3/4). Don’t get me wrong, Sammy with the band elevated to another level beyond imagination and on that moment Dave solo career didn’t take off as specked. Now is his turn to make a huge comeback and don’t make that same mistake twice. By the way, congratulations on your baby, I’m so happy for you. Kids are a blessing to any family.
Thanks Nestor! Hopefully I’ll get to shoot the concert later this week. If not, I’ll be home with Judah, who’s simply adorable.
