Photo of the Week #244
Yesterday the Lustgarten Foundation held its most successful New York City walk yet, raising over $400,000 for research to fight pancreatic cancer, the deadliest of cancers. More than 1,500 participants gathered on the beautiful spring morning, starting at Pier 84 in Manhattan and walking south along the Hudson River.
To get this shot, I hauled a ladder to a spot that would allow me to capture the line of walkers leading to the tall NYC buildings on the horizon. This is a good example of when one should use a flash outdoors. Because I was shooting into the sun, I needed a burst of light to reveal detail that would otherwise be lost in shadow.
